- Firm pressure is the fundamental step of this technique. Practitioner needs to use the side of the hand, palms, thumbs, fingers, or knuckles to apply steady, and stationary pressure.
- Then pressure has to be gradual and practitioner has to stop moving hands for a moment. This way recipeint starts getting relaxation on the particular area or get relief from the pain as it calms down and soothes those areas. Only 4 to 5 seconds of pressure is enough for stimulting any area.
- In order to squeeze the large muscle group, practitioner needs to give pressure in slow motion by using the fingers, thumbs and heels of the hands.To make muscles softer and more pliable, practioner needs to use the whole body weight of the upper body in that muscle group. This particular motion helps to relieve stiffness and tension of the shoulder and neck. It is helpful in treating spasms in the calf muscles and constipation.
- Rapid rubbing can create friction, which stimulates the lymph and blood. Rubbing lightly can relieve swelling,chilling, and numbness by increasing circulation. It is also helpful in toning the skin and benefitting the nerves.
- Quick tapping of fingertips can stimulate the muscles of tender and unprotected area, i.e. our skin. Using loose fist is helpful for larger areas of our body like back and buttocks.
